Realistically Speaking
I’ve learned a lot in the past year. When I say past I mean since 2014 has come in. I have always been a good judge of character, so I thought. I often refer to seeing things through "rose colored glasses". Unfortunately, everything in life doesn’t have a silver lining. One of my favorite hobbies is reading, but I honestly don’t like fiction. Harlequin Romance novels are the rose colored glasses view of what love and relationships look like. I consider myself to be a very realistic person, but I guess sometimes I can be a bit idealistic. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned not to take things or people for granted. I’ve learned that as quickly as things and people come, is as quickly as they go. I’ve learned how to count my blessings and realize that most things in this life are a privilege not a promise. Many times we have delusions of grandeur and believe the self- entitlement theory. None of us are perfect. Actually, most of us have more character defects than we can count. Honestly, I can appreciate my flaws because perfect is too high of an expectation to live up to. My flaws are what make me unique and unlike any other person on this earth. Today’s dose is short and sweet because the message is straight to the point. Realistically speaking; life shows us, loves grows us and God leads us. I thank God that He loves us in spite of us.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23 KJV)
