Enough Is Enough
Why do we keep doing the same thing and expecting different results? Self- induced self-destruction is very common. When something gives us pleasure we want to keep doing it to recreate the sense of euphoria that we felt the first time. I’ve heard people that struggled with drug addiction say that they chase the first high that was felt at the moment that they became addicted. Although things like drug addiction don’t ever have a positive outcome. The brief time that a person can escape their reality is enough to make them risk everything. Many times our intuition kicks in and lets us know to beware. We know when there is a possibility that we are not making a good decision. The situation seems extremely familiar to us, but we keep going. When we are driving and we see a caution sign, it signals us to slow down and beware that danger may be in our midst. Well the caution signal in our mind means the exact same thing. It’s just not wise to drive 75 miles an hour when the speed limit is 35. Unfortunately this is how many of us live our lives. At some point we should get tired of the same negative outcome from the same bad decision. It’s almost like we get convenient amnesia and we forget how the previous bad decisions affected our lives. How many times do we keep taking the loaded gun with 1 bullet in the chamber, place it against our temple and pull? It’s not worth it. Sometimes we have to restructure our entire lives if we always find ourselves in the same place that has never had a good outcome. If you find yourself meeting the same people with a different face, maybe it’s time to face the fact that it’s you, not them. What is it that you give off that attracts the toxic encounters to your life? Maybe with one small change, you can change the outcome of your entire existence. We have to stop practicing familiar insanity, because at the end of the day, you only drive yourself crazy.
2 Timothy 4: 3-4-For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears, they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.
